Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital
The A&E Department at the Royal Devon and Exeter (RD&E) Hospital is based at Wonford Hospital. A&E is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Derriford Hospital
The A&E Department is located at Derriford Hospital and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Torbay Hospital
The A&E Department is located at Torbay Hospital and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
When to call 999
Call 999 when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk, this could be a medical or mental health emergency.
These emergencies can include:
- loss of consciousness
- a sudden confused state
- fits that are not stopping
- chest pain
- breathing difficulties
- severe bleeding that cannot be stopped
- severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
- severe burns or scalds
- someone has seriously injured themselves or taken an overdose
