Stress awareness month: how TALKWORKS can help
April is Stress Awareness Month, an opportunity to pause and reflect on how stress affects our wellbeing. Stress is something lots of us experience from time to time. However, when it starts to impact our mood, sleep or relationships, it can be helpful to learn strategies for managing stress.
TALKWORKS, Devon’s NHS Talking Therapies service, offers free and confidential support for stress, available to adults, age 18+, across Devon (outside Plymouth). The service can provide a range of tools and techniques for managing stress to help people experiencing a mild to moderate common mental health difficulty, such as depression or anxiety, to feel happier. Therapy can be offered in a number of ways including face-to-face, over the phone or by video call, with sessions being available one-to-one or in a group setting. Patients can self-refer to TALKWORKS without needing a GP referral by completing the online self-referral form or by calling the team on 0300 555 3344.
