October is National Cholesterol Month
This year’s message is: Cholesterol Matters. Every Swap Counts.

National Cholesterol Month, organised by HEART UK, is an annual initiative focused on increasing awareness of the dangers of high cholesterol and its effect on heart health, and it takes place every October.
Small changes to the choices you make every day can add up to make a big difference to your heart health. From what you eat to how you move, making simple, achievable swaps can help you look after your cholesterol and your heart.
Did you know that the NHS offer a free health check? This includes a cholesterol blood test so you can check your levels? If you’re aged 40 – 74, with no pre-existing health conditions and you haven’t had a health check in the past 5 years, why not book a health check today? You’ll be given personalised information and advice to help support a healthier lifestyle and improve your overall wellbeing.
If you have not been invited for an NHS Health Check and think you’re eligible then, please, contact your GP practice.
If your GP practice does not offer NHS Health Checks, contact your local council to find out where you can book your NHS Health Check appointment.
