World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is about raising awareness of mental health and driving positive change for everyone’s mental health.

It’s also a chance to talk about mental health, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling.

If you need support for your mental health, please click here for details on your local services and information on managing your mental health.

The following training programmes are suitable for all professionals working with children and young people across health, education, social care and the voluntary sector:

UNIVERSAL TRAINING: These 2 courses are nationally available and provide a baseline understanding of the links between mental health and communication and why Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) is a risk factor for poor outcomes and life chances. The training programmes also outline how professionals can work together to remove communication barriers and help these children and young people achieve their potential.

TARGETED TRAINING: (builds on from above courses) NHS Devon ICB commissioned this training to provide more in depth knowledge and understanding of language and complex trauma and the impact on attachment & relationships, learning, mental health and implications for safeguarding. It is aimed at all who are supporting children and young people likely to experience Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and complex trauma or working with parents/carers who have been exposed to ACEs, experienced trauma or have difficulties with mental health.
