World Menopause Day

World Menopause Day aims to raise awareness of the menopause, and provide support and information for women who are going through it.

In the UK, the average age a person goes through menopause is 51, but it can begin much earlier for some people.

Three quarters of women experience symptoms, which can last up to 10 years.

These include a range of cognitive, physical and psychological symptoms (for example hot flushes, muscular aches, poor concentration, anxiety and headaches).

Everyone is encouraged to talk openly about the menopause to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and normalise the challenges related with it.
